Could the world be self-existent?

The world could not be self-existent. It is not a living thing and could not have produced itself or anything else. The chances of the world coming out just right on it's own without any outside help are very small.

Well, the first law of thermodynamics says that matter can neither be created nor destroyed. I can only be changed from one form to another, by either adding or removing energy. This tells me that in the beginning, either there was matter, or a whole lot of energy. The only way this could be the case would be for some being, or creator (GOD), to make it that way.
